The Ambassador looks like it might be designed to play a giant xylophone. These proud stems flower in an intense purple, followed by glorious seed-heads that last through the summer months. This variety of Allium is relatively new but you might recognise some of its relatives: the onion, leek, garlic and chives.
Place these showstoppers in a tall vase at a focal point in the room. Ambassadors command attention, so arrange them with more quiet flowers.
